Louise Smith completed her BSc. (HONS) Speech Language Pathology at the University of Cape Town in 2009.


In 2010 She moved to KwaZulu-Natal to complete her community service year in Manguzi, a rural hospital near the border of Mozambique, where she managed the Speech therapy department.

In 2011, Louise started working for Annalize Gould Speech and Language therapy as a generalist therapist and gained extensive experience in a private practice setting. Here, her work consisted mainly of children in mainstream schools with specific speech and language learning difficulties.

It was in 2015 that Louise discovered her passion for Autism and gained extensive experience working in an Autism unit. She started her own practice and focuses solely on Autism and related disorders. She works mainly with children on the Autism Spectrum as well as children with significant speech and language delays. She is affiliated to the Autism Project and works within a trans-disciplinary team as this ensures the best possible clinical management and outcome.

Louise is also involved in autism-specific training and outreach programs. Louise feels as a professional that one never stops learning, she is currently completing her masters with a focus in Autism through the University of Cape Town.
