​The Neurodiversity Centre was founded to provide multi-disciplinary assessment, support and intervention to children, adolescents and adults presenting with a constellation of neuro-developmental / neuropsychiatric challenges, as these challenges present across the lifespan.

These include concerns such as ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, Tourette’s and a variety of neurological challenges presenting with major behavioural / cognitive problems from an early age.

The NDC originated in the Western Cape, South Africa. They currently have trans-disciplinary teams across 9 centres in the Western Cape, currently working with over 4,300 families.

The Neurodiversity Centre KwaZulu Natal was launched by Clinical Psychologist, Nikki Simons in 2023, and now includes various branches around KZN and a multidisciplinary team of excellence.

Nikki completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1999 followed by an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2000. Nikki gained experience working in remedial schools, special needs schools, crisis centres, and mainstream schools in South Africa as well as the United Kingdom. After completing her Masters Degree in 2009, Nikki has worked in both the government and private sector. She opened up a private practice in 2010 in Ballito.

The NDC is the two-time winner in the category of Neuro-specialists of the year by Corporate Livewire South African Prestige Awards 2021/2022.
